When using anti‐human globulin reagents by a spin tube method, there is no immediately observable control on a negative test that anti‐human globulin serum has been added to the tube. A method is described of coloring anti‐human globulin serum with Crystal Violet one part in 50,000. Studies have shown that the dye at the stated concentration has no inhibiting effect on the activity of the reagent and also that the color provides a background which enables agglutination to be more easily observed.
