An antibody defined as anti‐Js b of the Sutter blood group system was discovered in the serum of a much transfused Chicago Negro woman of group B, Rh o (cD u e), Js (a+b–). Antibodies to rh′ (C) and rh″ (E) were also present. Tests with 460 Chicago Negro donors, all rh′ (C)‐negative and rh″ (E)‐negative, revealed three cases of phenotype Js (a+b–), an incidence of 0.65 per cent.
