A case is presented of intestinal obstruction from a trichobezoar in the sigmoid colon. The radiographic evidence of an obstructive, though unidentified, lesion in the sigmoid made surgical intervention mandatory. The sigmoidal site was unusual, as most trichobezoars are found in the stomach. For this reason, the diagnosis was not suspected preoperatively.
