The QQF theory for the etiology of obesity is contrasted with the traditional caloric theory. QQF represents (Q) the quality of food as well as (Q) the quantity of food, and (F) the frequency of ingestion. The QQF approach to the treatment of obesity (over 900 cases) is based on the differential between lipogenesis and triglyceride storage on the one hand, and lipolysis and fatty‐acid oxidation on the other.
