A bstract Two cases of segmental ulcerative colitis in the aged are presented. Barium‐enema x‐ray examinations were useful in locating the lesions but not in identifying the exact nature of the disease. Early surgery is indicated in most cases in order to prevent complications, and especially to detect malignant lesions.
