SUMMARY Georgia's statewide medical society program to aid physicians suffering from the disease of chemical dependency, drug abuse and psychiatric disorders is presented and reviewed after one year of operation. Its applicability to other state's Disabled Doctors Programs is suggested. Though still administratively and operationally improving and evolving, the efficacy of the program is attested to by the fact that one physician per month is being placed back in practice.
