SUMMARY A method for the cultivation of Zygnema in quantity on agar plates is described. Axenic filaments were chopped with razor blades, and 4 ml of the suspension of short filaments in nutrient medium were transferred with a syringe to 1% agarized nutrient medium plates. Filamentous growth uniformly covered agar plates in 10 days or less.
