SUMMARY The need for special centres for epileptics is demonstrated from the point of view of special education. The psychological changes of the patient undergoing medical treatment are discussed first; secondly the necessity for clinics is demonstrated through the practical problems of social, educational and professional rehabilitation. In Switzerland special clinics, such as transit and out‐patient clinics, should be founded.
