SUMMARY After a review of the Megimide activation method under EEG control, the authors relate the results of 200 tests. The side‐effects which may occur during the application of this technique are described as well as the contra‐indications resulting therefrom. In the light of these results they establish the criteria for the positivity of the test and a scale of activation thresholds is applied to the diagnosis of epilepsy. Further controls justify the choice of significant thresholds. It is thus possible in the great majority of clinically confirmed cases of epilepsy, to obtain an objective document supporting the diagnosis. With this method atypical manifestations can be attributed to epilepsy and specific therapy started. The interpretation of the results can obviously be made only with clinical data and necessitate a constant confrontation with the elements of the case history and the examination.
