SYNOPSIS Plasma levels of immunoreactive b ‐endorphin were found to be lower in patients with classical migraine than in patients with common migraine or chronic daily vascular headache or the control group. A role for b ‐endorphin in the mechanism of the neurological dysfunction in classical migraine is suggested.
