SYNOPSIS Ten migraineurs assessed their moods daily for 30 consecutive days on both a general and a specific mood rating scale in a preliminary prospective study. Results from the eight subjects who successfully completed the task indicate an overall improvement in mood on pre‐headache days and a worsening on days when they had headaches. The mood change seemed to reflect both reduction in depression and increasing general alertness.
