SYNOPSIS Brainstem strokes have been reported following neck trauma and manipulation, but never previously reported following basilar artery migraine. We describe a 21‐year‐old man who suffered a lateral medullary syndrome associated with basilar artery migraines. Angiography revealed complete occlusion of the left vertebral artery.
