SYNOPSIS In this retrospective study of 12 migraine patients successfully treated with biofeedback, we find that 67% experienced some form of symptom substitution. This manifested as classical psychosomatic symptoms, clinical depression, or a quasi‐delusional belief in controlling one's own or others' thoughts or feelings.
