SYNOPSIS The prevalence of migraine, peptic ulcer disease, coronary heart disease and hypertension was compared in 140 patients with cluster headache and in two control groups. Cluster headache women have a significantly higher incidence of migraine than controls. Migraine was more common among cluster headache males, but the difference was not statistically significant. Peptic ulcer in males with cluster headache was significantly more prevalent than in controls, but this difference was not significant statistically for women. Coronary heart disease was more common in cluster males but this was not statistically significant. None of the cluster women had evidence of coronary heart disease. The incidence of hypertension in cluster patients was less than in controls though the difference was not statistically significant.
