SYNOPSIS A 42 year old woman had 3 cluster epidoses which were associated with longlasting ipsilateral retro‐bulbar neuritis. The temporal and spatial relationship between cluster headache and retro‐bulbar neuritis in this patient suggests a casual relationship between these phenomena. One cluster headache paroxysm was associated with a convulsive episode in the contralateral lower extremity. The patient, her father, and her 3 sons had an increased bleeding tendency. In each a lowered factor XII level was present, but only the patient had headache and slightly reduced plasma pre kallikrein levels. The headache reported might be distinct from cluster headache.
