The influence of functional electricallystimulated ankle plantar flexors on the swinging lower extremitywas studied in incomplete spinal cord injured persons.Stimulation sequences with different time and frequencyparameters were delivered to ankle plantar flexors andknee extensors and to the peroneal nerve. The results ofkinematic assessment showed that stimulated calf musclesprovide noticeable forward and upward propulsion to theswinging leg.
