In order to detect metabolic aberrations which could account for the poor therapeutic response of the diabetic to dialysis, a comparative study of nondiabetic and diabetic uremia patients treated with hemodialysis was undertaken. Plasma renin activity and levels of growth hormone, glucose and insulin were investigated.
