Using a randomly selected sample of 104 faculty women at a midwestern university, relationships among health locus of control, health value, and exercise of self‐care agency (ESCA) were investigated. T tests, analysis of variance, chisquare, and Pearson product moment correlation coefficients were used to test hypotheses. A predicted positive correlation between ESCA and internality ( P 0.001) and a negative correlation between ESCA and chance ( P 0.001) were supported. Results also supported hypotheses of relationships between ESCA and health value ( P 0.05), health status ( P 0.001), and satisfaction with health ( P 0.001).
