I've been told that increasing dialysate flow from 500 to 800 mL/min is of minimal benefit unless the blood flow is relatively high (400‐500 mL/min) and even then the effect is small. I've also been told that increasing dialysate flow changes the membrane properties (not just the solute gradient) and adds significantly to Kt/V. Which is it?
