Pulmonary edema is a common occurrence in dialysis patients, presumably due to volume overload. It has been suggested that increased pulmonary capillary permeability due to “uremi” may contributeio the development of pulmonary edema in ESRD. Is this true and, ifso, does it have any therapeutic implications?
