Antifungal therapy for peritonitis due to Candida albicans has significant morbidity and cost. Cystitis, due to Candida in the patient with an indwelling bladder catheter usually clears with removal of the catheter. Are there any data on the natural history of untreated Candida peritonitis in CAPD patients who simply have their catheters removed?
