In May 2004, a symposium updating the management of hypertension was held in Washington, DC. This was telecast to more than 200 medical facilities throughout the United States. Participants included Marvin Moser, MD, of the Yale University School of Medicine, New Haven, CT; Vasilios Papademetriou, MD, of the Department of Veterans Affairs and Georgetown University Medical Centers, Washington, DC; Thomas G. Pickering, MD, DPhil, of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, NY; and Domenic A. Sica, MD, of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA.
