A childbirth educator describes burn‐out as having been due to boredom, frustration and exhaustion. She overcame burn‐out by changing focus in her classes, and by introducing skills learned in courses in teaching the adult learner, group dynamics, and assertiveness training. Many new books were added to her lending library, and she joined two new organizations in the childbirth field. She drew up a Prepared Childbirth Preferences form to help couples talk to their doctors during pregnancy. Finally, she devised an evaluation system for her classes, and helped begin a teacher enrichment series within her local chapter.
