Presence of the chironomid Corynocera ambigua Zett. and the carnivore Mustela erminea L. on Andøya about 15,000 B.P. is suggested. The oribatide mite Trichoribates cf. setiger (Träg.) has been recorded in 17–18,000 years old sediments on Andøya.
