Twenty‐six to 160 adults of Macrostomion sumatranum emerged from a mummified full‐grown larva of a sphingid moth, Theretra silhetensis , on taro in Okinawa‐jima, Japan. This is the first host record of M. sumatranum . The sex ratio was female‐biased in a small brood but less so or even male‐biased in a large brood.
