EDITORIAL COMMENT: We accepted this sad case report for publication to remind readers that persistent vaginal bleeding in an infant requires investigation to exclude the rare primary malignancies of cervix and/or vagina. Summary: A rare case of endodermal sinus tumour (EST) of the vagina in a 1 year 5 months old Papua New Guinean female is described and the literature on vaginal ESTs in childhood is briefly reviewed.
