Summary: Infantile pyknocytosis, a rare cause of intrauterine haemolysis and potential perinatal death, is described and the relevant literature reviewed. Treatment consists of preterm delivery with exchange transfusion as necessary to control the haemolytic process and hyperbilirubinaemia.
