Summary: : Recent advances in the diagnosis, management and prognosis of hypertension in pregnancy are discussed, with emphasis on antihypertensive drug treatment. The use of diuretics, α‐methyldopa, clonidine, hydralazine, β‐adrenergic blockers, diazoxide, chlormethiazole, diazepam and heparin is given special attention.
