Summary: A 33‐year‐old secundigravida developed acute renal failure as a complication of eclampsia. Laboratory data revealed raised serum creatine phospho‐kinase, aldolase, and the presence of myoglobulin in the urine. The myoglobinuria was attributable to the convulsions and coma; other possible contributing factors include the severe hypertension (causing vascular damage and ischaemic necrosis of muscle fibres) and the release of myoglobulin from the dead fetus.
