Summary: A retrospective analysis of drugs ingested in the first trimester of pregnancy in 7,933 consecutive deliveries in patients in a private practice was made. No particular congenital abnormality was found to be associated with any particular drug or group of drugs. However, there was a twofold increase in congenital abnormalities in the group with a positive history of drug intake in the first trimester of pregnancy.
