Summary: Ten cases of squamous papillary tumours were found in a review of over 1,200 cervical biopsies. Two of these lesions proved to be malignant, 1 fulfilling the description of verrucous carcinoma. The clinical and pathological features of these 10 cases are presented and discussed. The difficulties encountered in separating malignant from benign papillary growths in the uterine cervix are demonstrated, and the necessity for adequate biopsies is emphasized.
