Summary: A case of metastatic choriocarcinoma of the right upper alveolar margin occurring 20 months after total abdominal hysterectomy for a molar pregnancy is presented. Profuse tumour haemorrhage necessitated ligation of the right external carotid artery. The tumour regressed completely with chemotherapy, but subsequently a pulmonary metastasis required lung resection after chemotherapy had failed.
