Summary: In the management of carcinoma of the cervix, urinary diversion may be required for the palliation of symptoms, as a preliminary to radiotherapy, or for the complications of treatment. A review of 41 operations in 40 patients is presented, with particular reference to the problems likely to be encountered in each of the above groups. The results confirm that the ileal loop diversion is the most satisfactory method.
