Summary: Experience with the suction curette for termination of pregnancy in 385 consecutive cases has revealed a number of complications, including a hysterectomy rate of 1.5%. It is suggested that termination of pregnancy by this technique should not be undertaken lightly and that case selection should be strictly controlled.
