Summary: Dissatisfaction with available methods of treating large enterocele prompted a re‐examination of the problem. The present technique, applicable to large pulsion enterocele, consists essentially of excision of the pouch of Douglas and partial closure of the levator hiatus. Fourteen patients have been subjected to this procedure since 1968 with very encouraging results.
