Summary: By two‐dimensional ultrasonography the presence of a polycystic kidney has been demonstrated in a fetus at the 31st week of pregnancy. The diagnosis was made by observing gross enlargement of the kidney together with fetal ascites, extreme oligohydramnios and cystic spaces in the kidney in the echograms.
