Summary A review of 48 patients with choriocarcinoma was carried out. In this series, age and parity increased the risk of choriocarcinoma following on a hydatidiform mole. In view of the inadequate follow‐up of patients with molar pregnancies in this country, a policy of active prophylaxis – hysterectomy with chemotherapy – has been adopted in our hospital.
