Summary A case is reported of placenta percreta presenting as an antepartum intra‐peritoneal haemorrhage at 32‐34 weeks in a New Guinea woman. The patient had a history of previous partial placenta accreta and postpartum haemorrhage treated conservatively. The warning signs of abdominal pain, usually with progressive anaemia, occurring during pregnancy in a woman with a suspicious history of previous third stage trouble, may alert the obstetrician to this rare condition.
