Summary A consecutive series of 100 aboriginal patients, delivered at the King Edward Memorial Hospital, Perth, has been studied and compared with a Caucasian social class 4 group attending the same hospital. It is evident from the study that the detribalised aborigine constitutes a high risk patient in relation to reproduction.
