Summary1 A series of 83 planned examinations with the culdoscope is described. Infertility and amenorrhoea (sometimes associated with infertility) were the major indications for the procedure. 2 A satisfactory view of the pelvic organs was obtained in 88% of patients. 3 Pathology was discovered in 44% of so‐called “normal” infertile women. 4 Reliability of the findings when compared with later laparotomy is extremely high. 5 The technique, which is similar to that of Decker, is described. Without general anaesthesia, the procedure is both safe and simple.
