summary Of 301 patients treated at National Women' Hospital from 1946 to 1961 only 8 have been lost to follow‐up. The 5‐year survival was 65 per cent. This was influenced by the ageof onset of the disease. The modal age of patients at diagnosis was 59 years. The value of the different forms of therapy did not emerge with clear‐cut differences. A plea is made for better recording of data and a higher necropsy rate with more care in death certification.
