Summary:1 A case of monoamniotic twin pregnancy with double survival in the presence of true cord knotting is described. 2 The aetiological and clinical aspects of the condition are discussed. 3 Awareness of the condition, meticulous inspection of the placentae, umbilical cords and membranes of all multiple pregnancies and the reporting of all cases of monoamniotic twins should produce a more accurate estimation of the incidence of this condition.
