Summary: A case report is presented where the patient's puerperium was complicated by torsion of a disgerminoma of the ovary. The histological appearance of the tumour is described and its apparent lack of hormone influence is emphasised by the appearance of maturing Graafian follicles in the affected ovary and its association with pregnancy. Five weeks after operation the patient became pregnant again, but miscarried at 12 weeks.
