Summary: A case of recurrent post partum haemorrhage from the lower uterine segment wound of a Caesarean section is presented. The facility of ligation of the uterine arteries per vaginam to control such haemorrhage is shown. Eleven cases, both published and from the records of the Royal Women's Hospital, are reviewed with regard to the clinical features, aetiology, treatment and prognosis.
