The microcrystalline aggregates model of the adsorption of vat dyes on cellulosic materials is substantiated in this study. The relationships between affinities of some anthraquinone vat dye models and van der Waals molecular areas, hydrophobicity and planar‐like structures are presented in the form of correlation equations.
