Woven cotton fabric was dyed using CI Leuco Sulphur Black 1 and CI Leuco Sulphur Blue 5 and the extent of washdown that occurred during repeated wash fastness testing determined. Three cationic fixing agents were then applied to the dyeings and the testing repeated. All three products reduced washdown, but varied in their ability to do so.
