Several new disperse dyes derived from thiosemicarbazides and acetoacetanilide have been synthesised. The dye structures were ascertained by chemical analysis and infrared measurements. Prepared dyes were used for dyeing nylon fabric by the exhaustion method. The colour strengths and dye fixation on the fabric were also determined. The results suggest a practical significance.
