The affinities of direct dyes, such as CI Direct Blue 1, Red 2 and Yellow 12 for cellophane under high hydrostatic pressures up to 600 MPa at 55d̀C are presented. The pressure dependence of the affinities are discussed in terms of the change of the volume of substrate available for dye adsorption, Δ V.
