A procedure for estimating values that are proportional to the mean activity coefficients of sodium 4′‐dialkylaminoazobenzene‐4‐sulphonates in cellophane is presented. These values are derived from the mean activity coefficients of the dye in solution, and the dye concentrations in solution and in cellophane.
