Over the last three decades rotary‐screen printing has become the most important technique for textile printing. In discussing the challenges for the next decade, this paper identifies the trend towards shorter run lengths, particularly in Western Europe, as a major issue. It goes on to discuss the recent technical developments in the field of machine manufacturing, showing that rotary‐screen printing is still very much alive.
